Savage World Hack: Focused Strike

So a player brought up to me that 9 times out of 10 wild attacking is just plain better and I have to agree.  Sure the penalty to parry mathematically offsets the bonus to hit, but there's also the bonus to damage leaving the overall trade in the attacker's favor.  That combined with the fact that taking them out before they can take you out always being a good idea and the fact that you can call shot a wild attack makes wild attack just plain better.

To counter this I propose adding  another option called a Focused Strike.  Basically it's aiming for ranged characters.  With this a character uses their action to Focus negating 2 points from any called shot penalty to their next melee attack against a specific target.  Wild Attacks do not benefit from Focus.

While this isn't exactly the same as wild attacks it does allow for a character to choose between sacrificing Parry for added attack chance and damage or sacrificing an action to gain a bonus on attacking with out risking defense.

Anyways I plan on play testing this today, but I wanted to share it here also.  Let me know what you think and if you try it in your games.

Optional Combat Action: Focus
A character who spends a full action focusing (movement IS allowed, but no other actions are permitted) may add +2 to any called shot Fighting roll that is not a Wild Attack in the following round versus whatever he focused on (a person, vehicle, ect). Focusing for multiple rounds has no extra effect.
